WHO WE ARE
A Área Certa, Sociedade Unipessoal, Lda. is a company based in the parish of Criação Velha, in the municipality of Madalena, on Pico Island, in the Azores — a territory known as the land of stone, where black basalt shapes the landscape, history and local architecture. Founded on 25 July 2013, Área Certa was created with the ambition of valuing this unique natural heritage, combining tradition and innovation in the processing of ornamental stone into technical and aesthetic solutions of exceptional quality.
We specialise in the manufacture and installation of marble, granite, basalt and other premium materials, offering bespoke products for residential, commercial and public projects across all the islands of the Azores. Our work is distinguished by an integrated approach: we support clients from the selection of materials through to final installation, ensuring rigorous technical guidance at every stage of the process.
Our production unit is equipped with high-precision CNC cutting technology, polishing machines, modelling equipment and our own logistical solutions, enabling us to ensure speed, quality and customisation in every project. We work with a qualified in-house team, allowing full control over deadlines, finishes and compliance with the most demanding technical standards.

More than just a material, basalt represents the essence of Pico Island. With its deep tones and dense texture, this volcanic rock is synonymous with strength, timelessness and cultural identity. At Área Certa, we take pride in transforming the basalt of our land into countertops, sinks, flooring, façades and decorative cladding, valuing what is inherently ours and promoting authenticity in our clients’ projects.
